The Breath of Life it Defines Me

I am a man that has seen both death and life
Made by the struggles ad scares that I have overcome
Not by myself but by the breath of life that made me whole
Drug Addiction choked my lungs and plagued my veins
Lust took over my heart like a disease with no cure it blinded my eyes not letting me see true love
My soul once filled with hate and rage that no light could shine in the darkness within
So I thought this was my Identity, and there was no change
I found out my life was bought with a high price the blood of a king
Yeshua the prince shed his blood for my sins
Yahweh the creator, the very breath of life
Breathed in my spirit and made us one
He took my old identity and now calls me Son.
With that breath I was given a new inheritance
I once was nothing more than a peasant, now my father is the King of Kings
His breath of life has defined me it made me it is my identity
So I take this Grace from this breath of life
And I show the world as I walk in my new life
Sin once took over my body like an Asthma Attack
And the cure was the breath of life that now defines me
My identity is life and a chosen one of the King

A Talk with Father

Lord Forgive me for not wanting to give to you ways.
My Son you have already been forgiven.
My fear has taken control Father, and I do not feel worthy.
I have told you that you need not fear.
I have been so impatient for years and you still remain true.
I have given you that promise and I stand by my word.
I have ran from my calling you have placed on me.
And I ran beside you, you just never knew.
I still have many doubts and I question all the time.
But you seek, knock, ask and look for my truth.
I want to give you my life but I find it hard to do.
I have giving you my son and his life.
Sometimes I look at the past and wish it was still my present.
But you know your past was so unfulfilled.
Sometimes I wish I could have both sides and live both lives.
But my life for you means and is so much more.
Lord show me your way, so me your truths.
You are on your way, keep looking.
Lord make my eyes your eyes, and my heart your heart.
Keep seeking me it will be true.
Father My prayer is that I be more like you.
                                                   I shall answer.

Russian Roulette
Russian Roulette
Relapse in the chamber of a game of death
Loaded Gun, Druggie, Pot Head, Beer Chugger
Fearful of death again
Russian Roulette
Life will stop time will carry on
Forgotten childhood memories, lost soul to the darkness of the green
Russian Roulette
One hit can start it
One line can set it off
One x can do the deed
One sip and the party is started
Russian Roulette
Fear of Death, Fear of relapse
Risk for the thrill
Russian Roulette
My Roulette Game of Death
A Bowl, Bong, Blunt, Shot or Beer
Relapse is My Roulette
Russian Roulette
A Game of Chance
The drug or drink is not worth it
Russian Roulette
Former Addicted Changed

Fear is gone for Christ is real
The bullet is gone
I have not want
To Play a game of Russian Roulette
Russian Roulette the game has changed
The Game is done

My turn at Russian Roulette

Life of a Sinner

           Life of a Sinner
The life you are about to hear has been forever changed and never will be the same
This man you see before you has been made whole and is on the path the was meant for him
My story is a cautionary tale of the life of a sinner that was made for more
If you knew before I became whole you would hate me and not believe I am where I am today
I was born July 18th, 1983
To La’chom Madison a new Cop on the Force
They called him “Red” his hair would turn that in the summers
To Denise Madison once a Jackson a CNA spending hours on her feet
She was an artist at heart and a Loving and Caring Mother
5th in line to my Dad’s soon to be 8
1st in line to my mom’s soon to be 4
Middle Child with a Oldest Child Belonging
I was born in a changing decade
The Death of Disco and The Glitter from Glam Rock had almost lost its shine’
Punk Rock, Disc Jockeys, MTV and Hip Hop all on the rise
The mid and late 80’s my school aged years
Famine Hits Ethiopia thus began years of joke about starving East Africans
The Nazi Butcher of Lyons put away for good
The U.S. Bombs Libya setting up years of trouble ahead
Cocaine on the rise and the birth of Crack rock
Cabbage Patch kids are born and sent to little girls a crossed the USA
The 90’s my formative years and where most this story of a sinner really begins
MC Hammer haircut, glasses and pants in the 2nd grade I was “Too Legit to Quit”
Vanilla Ice taught me he was “Back with a brand new edition” so I should “Listen”
New Kids on The Block taught us all how they “Had the Right Stuff”
Paula showed it was cool to dance with cartoon cats and sing in a cartoon scene
6th grade the year that it all changed
I met Punk Rock and Heavy Metal
I found friendship in skateboards and gutter punk kids
CCM mags in my bag, skateboard my main mode of transportation
Dad flew the cope that year too; Guess he found a new family
With my father figure gone from the house this lead to crazy things
It was at a Plain White T’s when they were still somewhat punk and some other band
I met Cheech the only other black kid in the VP Punk crew
And he introduce me to my first Love Mary Jane
Before I knew the new crew had been marked as Troubled
I was a fly in the milk, I was a trouble maker among punk kids
I had a reputation with everyone as watch out for that one
Freshmen year came with a blast and hit
I met my girl named E she made my mind go wild and I sensed extra euphoria around her
It was girls, trouble and deans office everyday
And addiction on its way, I learned of white powder snow caped mountains and saw northern lights
I also met Lucy with her nothing was a true reality everything was bendable and breakable
My boy boomer I barely remember the good times we spent together
High School was and is a blur
Parties, Clubs, Raves and More
Drugs and Heavy Drinking, Blackouts and Whiteouts
12th grade it all caught up to me
That bad boy reputation became true
Out of the school door in cuffs, in back of that cop car
BD school bond, No hope left, no life left
10/10/01 I found some hope, God spoke
I was alive for the first time
Saved 2 serve and made for more, Life of a Sinner had been changed
I received my call from God Matthew 28 assured me of that
Summer 2005 I had a saw p117
So I went
I learned to love justice, care for the oppressed and long for the widowed and fatherless
I went to a Wonderland and served city kids
2007 the sinners life came back I saw my mom die
Drugs, parties, girls and over drinking
Cop cars, hand cuffs, blackouts and whiteouts
Breast Cancer took away my families strength and my hope
But the sinner’s life did not last for long for God was in my foot steps
God showed me Romans 8 and I have yet to turn back
My life of a sinner once was of death, spoke of death, smelled of death and felt like death
But Christ has risen and death has been defeated
I have life and not a sinner’s life
This life of a sinner is no more for I have been forever changed
I have been made for more

Modern Day Slave

Modern Day Slave
Modern Day Slave unseen and unspoken of
Young Child, Small Girl, Teen, Young Women, Slave of the New Age
So I got your attention? Hard to believe!
What if I told you that slavery still is very very real?
Would it bring up images of whips and chains, boats packed with people, slave masters and civil wars?
What if I told you that the modern day slave can look like you and me?
What if I told you that there are more slaves now than any time in history?
That is more now than if you add up both the Trans-Atlantic and White Slave trades!
More Slaves than when the Jews were in captivity!
Does that bring rage to your bones! Or does it have no affect!
27 million slaves are in bondage today as I speak
700,000 are enslaved per year, And that’s new slaves a year!
This cannot be true! But oh it’s so very true!
What if I told you stories of pain and hardship, which could make a grown man cry?
A story of a young girl named Harshita her name means Joyful or one that brings joy!
Born in Rural Bangladesh to poor parents, Her mother died when she was young
Her dad enjoy the drink a little too much, he got remarried and his new wife did not like Harshita
So her loving father sold her, not only for his wife but so he could spend more on his clutch
And now she works in brothels and sleeps on the floors! She is shown no love and has tries in her eyes!
She is used day in and day out! Her name Joyful has been taken away for she has no Joy Left!
She is a Modern Day Slave
Or a Story of Little Lochan 9 years of age his name means bright eyes
Born in Mumbai, street vendor mother odd end working father
Lochan family is so poor he is forced to work to help out
He roles Beedies on the floor of a dirty factor
Hours and Hours with his small hands rolling the small cigarettes into the end of a sharp knife
All for less than a $1 a day
His bright eyes have lost their shine and their hope!
He is a modern day slave!
Ming and Kong twins born in Shantou to parents who could barely afford life for themselves
Sent them away with a family friend who promised work and education in the big city of Hong Kong
Yet they were sold into slavery, now they work in a sweet shop!
They make skinny jeans worn by a Hipster that smokes Beedies and drinks a Grande Nonfat Latte from Starbucks. All to seem cool!
He pays $90 for a pair of jeans and the twins get paid 50 cents apiece for their efforts!
Modern day Slaves!
This has barely hit the seats that we sit in here in America!
The West African
Nation of Cote D’Ivoire rich soil and beautiful lands
Home to Philippe 14 years old
Once loved to climb trees, run and play football
Now forced to work in the Cocoa Fields
Robbed of his education and childhood
He sleeps on the floor of a hut in the fields with 10 other kids
His pay is room rice and meat and the mat the he sleeps on!
Modern Day Slave!
Coffee it runs in my veins so this one hit home more than the rest!
Mateo 25 year old father of 4
Works in the High Mountains of Peru harvesting and growing coffee beans
He makes a month for what I pay a week for coffee at Starbucks!
He is my modern day slave!
The modern day slave is not like the one of old but is real!
She is a child slave in Uganda working for the LRA
He is the farm hand in American getting paid below minimum wage
They are the children making clothes overseas on the floor of a factory
They are the sex slaves hidden in the big cities all over the world that are hidden from or eyes
What can we do? Gain Knowledge! Pray Hard! Fight if you can!
Go for Fair Trade!
So you see the whips and chains, boats and slave master, slave courts of old
Maybe unseen now but it is still real
There is still Modern Day Slaves

Justice is Sexy!

Justice
·         The quality of being just: righteousness , equitableness  or moral rightness( to uphold the justice of a cause)
·         The moral principle determining just conduct
·         The quality of being fair and reasonable

“Stop doing wrong, learn to do right! Seek justice, encourage the oppressed. Defend the cause of the fatherless, plead the case of the widow.” Isaiah 1:16-17
The idea of justice has become Cool or Sexy in our culture! In fact there are hundreds of thousands Social Justice Groups in America. They have Justice groups to protect donkeys!  To Protect against Sex Trafficking and so on! The Church is and should be at the forefront of this movement!
God=Justice
“The Lord is a God of Justice.” Isaiah 30:18
God is for the very lost people that need Justice the most!
“The Lord is righteous, he loves justice.” Psalms 11:7
“The Lord is beyond our reach and exalted in Power; in justice and great righteousness.” Job 37:23
“The Lord will be exalted by his justice, and the Holy God will show himself holy by his righteousness.” Isaiah 5:16
When we as Christian think about Justice we have to think of a bigger idea than Right vs. Wrong! We must see the very image of God and who God is and then asks ourselves some questions in the light of that!
As followers of Christ, we have to take a serious stand for Justice it is in our very image. The call to justice is a large part of what God wants us to do. He wants for us to fight for his people and show his love and grace. Often we are the source and cause of injustice in the world around us, whether it’s through the way we treat others, how we talk about people(to their faces and behind there backs), the choices of how we chose to live our lives with no regard for how it affects others and so on. In order for us to take a stand against injustice we must start with ourselves!
“While women weep as they do now; I’ll fight. While little children go hungry as they do now; I’ll fight. While men go to person in and out, in and out as they do now; I’ll fight. While there is a drunkard left, while there is a poor lost girls upon the streets, while there remains one dark soul without the light of God, I’ll Fight I’ll fight to the very end.” William Booth
