Life
of a Sinner
The life you are about to hear has been forever changed and
never will be the same
This man you see before you has been made whole and is on the
path the was meant for him
My story is a cautionary tale of the life of a sinner that was
made for more
If you knew before I became whole you would hate me and not
believe I am where I am today
I was born July 18th, 1983
To La’chom Madison a new Cop on the Force
They called him “Red” his hair would turn that in the summers
To Denise Madison once a Jackson a CNA spending hours on her
feet
She was an artist at heart and a Loving and Caring Mother
5th in line to my Dad’s soon to be 8
1st in line to my mom’s soon to be 4
Middle Child with a Oldest Child Belonging
I was born in a changing decade
The Death of Disco and The Glitter from Glam Rock had almost
lost its shine’
Punk Rock, Disc Jockeys, MTV and Hip Hop all on the rise
The mid and late 80’s my school aged years
Famine Hits Ethiopia thus began years of joke about starving
East Africans
The Nazi Butcher of Lyons put away for good
The U.S. Bombs Libya setting up years of trouble ahead
Cocaine on the rise and the birth of Crack rock
Cabbage Patch kids are born and sent to little girls a
crossed the USA
The 90’s my formative years and where most this story of a
sinner really begins
MC Hammer haircut, glasses and pants in the 2nd
grade I was “Too Legit to Quit”
Vanilla Ice taught me he was “Back with a brand new edition”
so I should “Listen”
New Kids on The Block taught us all how they “Had the Right
Stuff”
Paula showed it was cool to dance with cartoon cats and sing
in a cartoon scene
6th grade the year that it all changed
I met Punk Rock and Heavy Metal
I found friendship in skateboards and gutter punk kids
CCM mags in my bag, skateboard my main mode of transportation
Dad flew the cope that year too; Guess he found a new family
With my father figure gone from the house this lead to crazy
things
It was at a Plain White T’s when they were still somewhat
punk and some other band
I met Cheech the only other black kid in the VP Punk crew
And he introduce me to my first Love Mary Jane
Before I knew the new crew had been marked as Troubled
I was a fly in the milk, I was a trouble maker among punk
kids
I had a reputation with everyone as watch out for that one
Freshmen year came with a blast and hit
I met my girl named E she made my mind go wild and I sensed
extra euphoria around her
It was girls, trouble and deans office everyday
And addiction on its way, I learned of white powder snow
caped mountains and saw northern lights
I also met Lucy with her nothing was a true reality
everything was bendable and breakable
My boy boomer I barely remember the good times we spent
together
High School was and is a blur
Parties, Clubs, Raves and More
Drugs and Heavy Drinking, Blackouts and Whiteouts
12th grade it all caught up to me
That bad boy reputation became true
Out of the school door in cuffs, in back of that cop car
BD school bond, No hope left, no life left
10/10/01 I found some hope, God spoke
I was alive for the first time
Saved 2 serve and made for more, Life of a Sinner had been
changed
I received my call from God Matthew 28 assured me of that
Summer 2005 I had a saw p117
So I went
I learned to love justice, care for the oppressed and long
for the widowed and fatherless
I went to a Wonderland and served city kids
2007 the sinners life came back I saw my mom die
Drugs, parties, girls and over drinking
Cop cars, hand cuffs, blackouts and whiteouts
Breast Cancer took away my families strength and my hope
But the sinner’s life did not last for long for God was in my
foot steps
God showed me Romans 8 and I have yet to turn back
My life of a sinner once was of death, spoke of death,
smelled of death and felt like death
But Christ has risen and death has been defeated
I have life and not a sinner’s life
This life of a sinner is no more for I have been forever changed
I have been made for more
